News from the World Championships 2011: Team Race (20 Feb 2011)

Hi everybody,

Today it was the 1st day of the World Championships Claut 2011. It snowed a lot last week and the Organising Committee decided to postpone the Sprint (suppossed to happen yesterday and will take place next Wednesday).

Verte à l'Envers & Sybelles

Another 2 ski alpinism races in the last week.... results were ok if we consider that I'm a bit tired. Have been training a lot to be well prepared for the World Championships.

The first race was a night vertical race, the famous Verte à l'Envers in Les Houches. 870m of uphill on a ski slope. I finished in 43m56s but I was 1m slower than last year...

Ski Mountaineering World Champioships Photos - Claut 2011

After 2 years of ski mountaineering experience acquired, this year I decided to participate in the Ski Mountaineering World Championship that will take place in Claut (Dolomites - Italy) from the 18 to the 25 February 2011.

Ski Mountaineering Season has started very well!!!

Another big Winter Ski Mountaineering season is coming!!!

This year the big projects are the Pierra Menta, the Mezzalama and maybe the World Championships.... we'll see!!!!

With my Club (Chamonix Sports Club) we went the other day to Cervinia in Italy to do a weekend of trainning.

All went well but the muscles are a bit rusty....

The first competition  is in Chamonix, the Dec 5th, let's see how it goes :-)

Km Vertical de Nantaux (Montriond), 16th place, 38m59s

Yesterday I raced for the 1st time a Km Vertical. 1000m in the shortest distance possible. This one Km Vertical de Nantaux is considered the 2nd steepest in the world, after the Km Vertical de la Fully in Switzerland.

For a 1st experience the result wans't that bad. I finished 16th and the time was 38m59s.

The Endurance Trail des Templier is coming... Oct 22nd

The Endurance Trail des Templier is coming soon!!!

On the 22nd of October I'll race the longest race ever, 100km and 4600m D+.

Follow here the updates on this race, Templier Website

5th place at the Grand Raid des Pyrenees, 28 Aug 2010

Saturday morning, 28th August 2010. It was very cold that morning. The sky was dark, very dark, we could see the clouds all over the sky, but the motivation was there, at the top. 750 participants in this beautiful trail, probably one of the most beautiful trails that I ever did.

1st Trail of the Season... the Courchevel X Trail

That's it, the Trail season has started.... FINALLY !!!!!!

And it started really well, a very beatiful and very technical trai in the Tarentaise Massif (France).

The Courchevel X Trail, 53km and 4400m D+, took place last sunday, the 8th of August 2010. A very nice day, good weather, not very warm. The perfect conditions for the practice of this sport.

The Trail was won by Dawa Sherpa (Nepal) and I did quite well, much better than I was expecting for my first race of the season. I finished in the 16th position in 8.02h

Not bad :-)

Road Biking Season has started in the Alps

Since the June 25th, the weather had been amazing in the Alps. The summer finally arrived and me and my friends have been enjoying the most out of it.

We have been biking a lot. I was planning to do some trail running to train for my competitions, but the Spring was quite bad in terms of injuries, so I prefer to bike. Less traumatising for the muscles and for the joints.

Chamonix - Summit of Mont Blanc... 6h

To finish this amazing Winter season, me and some friends from the Club Ski Mountaineering of Chamonix (Rudy, Yann & Carron) decided to climb Mont Blanc but we left from Chamonix. No cable cars, no help... nothing. Just us, our strengh and skis!!!

6 hours to reach the top of the hightest mountain of the Chamonix Valley...
